デートへの誘い方 How to ask someone out on a date

ミキとピーターは現在、付き合い出して数ヶ月になります。最初、彼女が彼をデートに誘いました。彼女が彼をデートに誘ったその日、ミキは緊張のあまり私に電話してきて、どうしたら良いのかアドバイスを求めてきました。ピーターはイベント会社を経営しており、ミキの会社が彼の会社を時々使っていたこともあって、仕事を通して二人は出会いました。そして二人の間には何か通じ合うものがあったのです。ミキは普段男をもてあそぶタイプの女性なので、彼女の口から”緊張している”という言葉を聞いた時、少し不思議な感じがしました。大抵いつも緊張するのは男性の方なんですがね…。

どもりながら、すこし間抜けな感じでですが、なんとか彼にデートを申し込み、彼もOKしてくれました。　その後の事はさっきも言った通りです。(付き合い出しました)

今週から、どうやって彼・彼女を英語でデートに誘ったらいいのか学んでいきたいと思います。

Man-eater: 男をもてあそぶ女、男たらし、男好きの女  アーバン辞書にも意味が載っていますのでチェック! Airhead: 頭の中が空っぽの人、間抜けな、バカ者(女性に使うケースが多い)

英語バージョン

Miki and Peter have been going out for a few months now. She was the one who first asked him out on a date. I remember the night she did it, she called me up all nervous asking for advice. She had met him through her work as he owns an event management company that her work used sometimes, and there had been chemistry between them. Miki is usually a man-eater so it was strange to hear her nervous about a guy! Usually it’s the guys who are nervous (with good reason) about her. She managed to ask him, although she stuttered a bit and thought she sounded like an airhead, and he said yes.  The rest is history!

We are going to look at how to ask someone out on a date in English over the next few weeks.  It is something that has always made me feel nervous – how about you?  Let’s take a look at the English needed, advice about how to do it and look at some videos.
