汚い表現使いすぎかな? I might swear too much

最近自分でも思うのですが、私、結構汚い言葉を使いがちです… 一般的にニュージランド人は汚い表現をを結構頻繁に使うみたいです。私自身、あまり荒々しい女だと思われたくないんですけどね。

「くそー」とか「チェッ」とか「バカ野郎～」とかそういった汚い言葉を使うのは本気で怒った時とか、たまに言う方が聞き手にインパクトを与えますしね 家族間や会社のオフィスでもし汚い言葉を使ったら50セント(約50円)を入れないといけない箱を作っているところもたまにあるようです。そして、週の終わりにそこに貯まったお金でケーキを買ったり夕食に出かけたりするんです。私もこの箱を自分のオフィスに置いたほうがいいかもしれませんね

英語バージョン

I think I might swear too much.  New Zealanders in general swear quite a lot.  I don’t want to seem too rough – rough as guts*!  Swearing really is better if you only do it occasionally as it makes a big impact.  Sometimes families or offices might have a swear jar where you have to put 50 cents in the jar if you swear, and then at the end of the week the money is used to buy some cake or for a dinner.  Maybe I should start my own swear jar in my office.

*Rough as guts – ニュージーランドではとっても荒いという意味でこのフレーズを使っています
